The Abu Dhabi Judicial Department (ADJD) has revealed the adoption of 11 global performance indicators aimed at achieving pioneering results at the international level. It announced the successful implementation of six distinguished judicial projects last year, all integrating artificial intelligence (AI) into the litigation system, where data is analyzed before decisions are made.
Enhanced Client Services
Statistics released by the department showed the completion of more than 920,432 remote judicial requests, all processed using AI technologies. The department further indicated its expansion in utilizing these technologies to streamline procedures. Business intelligence is employed to create a unified client profile based on national ID numbers and linked with secure digital identity access mechanisms.
This system allows users to access all their transactions across various departments within the Judicial Department, including courts, public prosecutions, and other judicial services. It enables users to submit requests, track their status, pay fees, and generate smart reports on financial case files. Additionally, the system guides litigants through subsequent steps according to the stage of the transaction, thereby accelerating rights restoration, improving decision-making, and minimizing administrative procedures.
Alignment with Technological Advancements
This development aligns with technological and scientific advancements, aiming to enhance judicial efficiency, deliver swift justice, and elevate the legal system in Abu Dhabi. It follows the issuance of Decision No. (32) of 2020 by the Head of the Judicial Department concerning the Guide for the Use of Artificial Intelligence in Judicial and Legal Services.
The Abu Dhabi Judicial Department also participated in GITEX Global 2024, held at the Dubai World Trade Centre from October 14 to 18, 2024. During the event, the department showcased its latest AI-powered initiatives, smart technologies, and innovative services that serve clients, as part of its continuous efforts to develop the judicial system using modern technological methodologies.
The department’s participation aimed to introduce visitors to its smart legal and judicial services, supporting the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan—Vice President of the UAE, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of the Presidential Court, and Head of the Judicial Department in Abu Dhabi—to ensure sustainable development and modernization that reinforce Abu Dhabi’s competitive position.
During the exhibition, and through the Abu Dhabi Government Pavilion under the theme “Towards an AI-Driven Government”, the department presented its innovative services and initiatives, including its newly launched smart application. This platform offers an advanced and integrated solution enabling clients to easily submit various requests, access case files, and stay updated on developments in Abu Dhabi’s courts and prosecution departments—using the latest technological tools.
Furthermore, during the exhibition, the Judicial Department launched several new services via its smart app, including: Case Reporting, Security Deposit Submission, and access to digitally authenticated documents. These updates reflect the department’s commitment to continuously enhancing the app by adding more legal and judicial services on one integrated platform.
The ADJD’s commitment to innovation ensures continuous improvement in legal and judicial services. By integrating AI into its operations, the department is setting new benchmarks for efficiency and client satisfaction.
